Jernbanemuseets Venner (Friends of the Norwegian Railway Museum) actively supports the museum and works actively to raise funds so that the museum can continue to grow. Membership fees are used to finance various projects at the museum.

The most prominent museum item Jernbanemuseets Venner has financed is Sonsveien sections mans house, which was dissembled, moved and reassembled at the museum site.

Starting in the middle of the 1980s, the foundation also began work on fully restoring the museum’s vintage train, with a steam locomotive built by Robert L. Stephenson in 1861. The locomotive has been “revived” thanks to the foundation’s financial contributions, and the same is true of a number of railway carriages dating back to the 1870s and 1880s.

Membership
The membership fee is NOK 200,- per year. If you are already a member of the Norwegian Railway Club, then the membership fee is only NOK 160,- per year.

• You receive the Norwegian Railway Museum’s yearbook (only in Norwegian).
• You receive free admission to the national railway museums in Sweden (Gävle and Ängelholm), Denmark ( Odense) and Finland (Hyvinkää).

You will receive a giro for payment when we receive your membership registration. When we have registered your payment we will send you your membership card and yearbook.
