The world's oldest authentic vintage train in operation

The vintage train with the Robert Stephenson locomotive "Caroline" from 1861 has been fully renovated and is owned by the Norwegian Railway Museum. It offers three to four services a year. The journey runs from Hamar Station to Elverum with stops at stations along the way. In Elverum, there is a 1-3 hour break depending on what arrangements have been made.
It is not yet clear whether the train will run in 2012. Please contact us for further information.

This is a day with focus on rolling stock. We will bring out stock not usually on display at the museum, or we may offer you a vintage train experience.

The World as my Stop! An International Cultural Festival for Children

An annual children's festival with 2008 as its first year. Here you can enjoy workshops, concerts, theatre plays, exhibitions and exotic adventures for the whole family. Everything is managed and performed by skilled artists and performers from Norway and abroad.
